METROPOLIS – State Rep. Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) has announced the creation of a new website sponsored by Illinois House Republicans that provides the latest news and information related to the coronavirus outbreak and its fallout.
“Our staff is working hard to keep members of the House informed and making critical information available to constituents as we work through this trying time,” Windhorst said. “While many are sheltered in place, or taking cover from the virus, we are watching carefully as news develops basically every hour.”
The House Republicans web resource is comprehensive and provides information on news from the Governor’s office, the Illinois Department of Public Health, the latest from the combatting price gouging, how to apply for unemployment benefits, financial help for small businesses, and information from the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Aging.
Windhorst is encouraging all constituents to heed warnings, remain at home unless travel is necessary, and to visit www.ilcovid19info.com or coronavirus.illinois.gov. For more information, a coronavirus hotline has been established: COVID-19 Hotline 1-800-889-3931.
At his daily press briefing today, Governor JB Pritzker announced that essential services will remain available. The Governor reconfirmed that grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations will remain open throughout the pandemic. Residents will always have access to essential items.
Additionally, a growing coalition of grocery stores will set aside time for older residents to shop, before stores open to the general public.
118th district constituents may also reach out directly to Rep. Windhorst’s staff at 618-294-8703 or email Rep. Windhorst at Windhorst@ILHouseGOP.org.
