Windhorst’s Southern Illinois is Beautiful Photo Contest Deadline Quickly Approaching
METROPOLIS – State Rep. Patrick Windhorst says he’s been encouraged by an outpouring of great photos from participants in his “Southern Illinois is Beautiful” photo contest and is reminding 117th district residents that the deadline to submit photos for the contest is coming up soon.
“We’ve had a great response for our first annual “Southern Illinois is Beautiful” photo contest. The deadline to submit photos to my office for consideration is Friday, November 10th by midnight,” Windhorst said. “I’m encouraging both students and adults to get their photos in before the deadline so we can make this contest as competitive and successful as possible.”
Windhorst’s photo contest features two categories and is open to both students under the age of 21 and adults aged 21 and over. Contest photos should be submitted via email to Windhorst@ILHouseGOP.org by November 10, 2023, at midnight. Photo submissions must include the photographer’s name and the location of the photo located in Southern Illinois.
Three finalists will be chosen in each category. The finalist’s photos will be made available on Rep. Windhorst’s official Facebook page for voting. Voting will open on Tuesday, November 14th, and last through Tuesday, November 28th at 5:00 PM. The photos earning the most likes and loves will be declared the winners.
Winning photos will be displayed in Rep. Windhorst’s Harrisburg and West Frankfort District Offices and his Springfield Capitol office. Winning contestants will receive an official certificate of congratulations from the Illinois House of Representatives. All photograph submissions MUST be the original work of the photographer.
