Windhorst Reminds Summer Readers of Approaching Reading Club Deadline

METROPOLIS – State Representative Patrick Windhorst is reminding local incoming first through fourth grade students that the deadline to complete necessary paperwork to join his annual Summer Reading Club and be eligible to receive free tickets to a Thrillville Thrillbillies baseball game is Friday, June 28th by the close of business.

“With the deadline to turn in completed forms fast approaching, I want to once again invite area students to join my summer reading club!,” Windhorst said. “This a great chance for students to keep reading throughout their summer break, keep their literary skills sharp, and earn a ticket to watch a baseball game with me and their fellow summer readers. I’m thrilled to be joining up with my colleague State Rep. Paul Jacobs to host summer readers and a parent at Mountain Dew Stadium for a Thrillville Thrillbillies game on July 25th as a reward for the students’ hard work.”

Incoming 1st through 4th grade students reading at least EIGHT books this summer will receive an official Illinois House of Representatives Certificate of Recognition and two tickets (one for the reader, one for a parent/guardian) to a Thrillville Thrillbillies baseball game at Mountain Dew Park in Marion on July 25, 2024 for a special “Night at the Ballpark” celebrating summer readers! Details will be forwarded to summer readers and their parents or guardians upon receipt of completed reading forms.

Completed forms should be sent to State Representative Patrick Windhorst – 2 N. Vine Street, Suite 5A, Harrisburg, IL, 62946 or scanned and emailed to Windhorst@ILHouseGOP.org. An online form is also available for students to fill out at repwindhorst.com/rep-windhorsts-summer-reading-club
