MARION, IL – Illinois House Minority Leader Tony McCombie and House Republican Floor Leader State Representative Patrick Windhorst were together in Marion last week for a special “Let’s Talk Real Estate” event hosted by Illinois Realtors. The town hall style event, which took place at The Diamond Club at Mountain Dew Park in Marion, was organized to allow the top Republican legislators to answer questions and provide a legislative update to area realtors.
Rep. Windhorst thanked Leader McCombie for making the town hall part of her swing through Southern Illinois, and extended his appreciation to Illinois Realtors for organizing the event.
“Leader McCombie made the effort to come to Southern Illinois to tour facilities, talk with local media, and reach out to our realtors community through an informational town hall,” Windhorst said. “I was honored to have her in our region, and pleased to spend a couple of hours with local realtors answering their questions and providing an update on the latest happenings in Springfield. We have a lot of work to do to improve access to affordable housing in our area. Events like these help legislators understand the obstacles to that goal as well as illuminate for us the challenging and ever-evolving industry that realtors are working in.”
