Windhorst Joins WJPF Radio for Wide Ranging Interview – Discuss Corrections Issues, Property Taxes

CARTERVILLE, IL – State Rep. Patrick Windhorst joined Tom Miller yesterday for a wide ranging interview on the WJPF Radio Morning Newswatch. Windhorst discussed current issues with exposures and illnesses at the Department of Corrections and the need for more transparency from the department and from the administration. There must be a better effort by the department and administration to ensure drugs and other banned contraband and substances do not make it in to our correctional facilities. Windhorst also discussed Illinois’ burdensome property tax problem – an outdated system that causes people to be forced out of their homes and leave for other states. Windhorst and Miller also covered a new legal effort to target large online and retail theft rings. Windhorst says he believes sharing information between law enforcement agencies and internet companies is a major problem that we must address to help keep consumer prices down.
