Windhorst Joins WJPF Radio for End of Session Interview

MARION, IL – State Representative Patrick Windhorst joined Tom Miller on the WJPF Morning Newswatch for a detailed interview covering the end of session and the passage of the FY 26 budget. Windhorst released the following statement:

“I was happy to join Tom Miller on the WJPF Morning Newswatch this morning for a detailed interview. First, we mourned the passing of our mutual friend, former Harrisburg Mayor Eric Gregg. My condolences go out to Mayor Gregg’s family and loved ones. Tom and I also discussed what was in the budget (we are still learning about the $1 billion in tax hikes that are in the record spending plan). We also spoke about two special funding items in the budget that will give Gov. Pritzker $100 million spending discretion and an increase in the budget for the IL Attorney General as he continues to sue the Trump administration in Federal court. We also discussed the hypocrisy of the Democratic Party of Illinois, and how their behavior is both frustrating and insulting to the people of our state – Passing huge tax increases and spending bills in the middle of the night after launching criticisms of the Republican Congress in a previous resolution that I spoke against.”
